Bovaer® Feed Additive Statement

There has been a lot of online media coverage following an announcement by a milk processor that they are trialling Bovaer®, a methane emission-suppressing feed additive, on some of their supplying dairy farms. We have received several enquiries from customers wishing to understand if Heler Foods will be trialling Bovaer®. 

We can confirm that Cheshire Cheese Company as part of Heler Foods are not taking part in any trial associated with the Bovaer® methane suppressing feed additive on our supplying farms. Please be assured that as a company, we use only the finest quality milk from our own farmers, and we treat each individual block of cheese we make with the same care and attention as when our cheese-making tradition began over a century ago.
