If you’re ordering cheese as a Christmas gift, it’s important to keep it refrigerated until you’re ready to gift it. Leaving the cheese out can cause it to warm up and crack the wax, which may lead to leakage and spoil the presentation of your gift.

Our team pack your orders are carefully as possible, you will be able to take the individual truckles of our hampers out to pop in the fridge, without ruining the presentation of the hamper.

Yes, you can freeze our cheese for up to 12 months without any loss of texture or taste. For best results, we recommend defrosting it 24 hours before consumption. To enjoy the best flavour, let the cheese reach room temperature before serving.

If you are visiting friends and family with your cheese gifts this Christmas, it’s okay for the cheese to be out of the fridge for shorter periods. If the cheese becomes a little warm and soft, simply wipe the cheese down and chill it in the fridge for a few hours to firm it up again. For extended periods of storage of more than a day or so, we recommend storage in the fridge.

Currently, we are not able to confirm a cut-off day, but we always aim to be dispatching our customer orders for as long as possible. We will be updating our website and social media regularly to ensure the most accurate information is available. We always recommend placing your order as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

Yes, there is a minimum order value of £10 and a delivery charge of £4.95. Delivery is FREE on all orders over £35*. (*Order total must be £35 or over after any discounts or offers have been applied.)

We accept payments via debit or credit card, PayPal, and Google Pay. All transactions are processed securely through the Braintree® Payment Gateway, a PayPal® company.

If you need a refund for any reason, please email us at [email protected]. We’ll be happy to process a return or refund where applicable. Please note that we do not send replacements for single damaged items — instead, we will offer compensation in the form of vouchers or Rewards points.

Yes we use the Braintree® Payment Gateway owned by PayPal® to process all of our payments. Only one voucher code can be used per order placed, the order must be a minimum of £10.00 in value after discount and excluding the cost of delivery. Voucher Codes cannot be applied to products already discounted and promotional offers. The birthday voucher can be used at a show we attend as can the single or two cheese vouchers we issue but must be printed out with the email it was sent with and shown to the seller. Only official Cheshire Cheese Company organised shows and markets will accept the vouchers.

You must register on our website and be logged in to use the balance from your gift card. Add your choice of products to the cart and then click top right Shopping cart Icon to view cart. At the bottom left of the page you will Apply Gift Card Code, add your code here. The balance will be taken from the card if you have credit this will be assigned to your logged in account for use with a future order.

If on the rare occasion you receive a damaged or missing item from your order, we will offer a refund or we will offer you a voucher code which will exceed the value of the missing or damaged items. Due to the high cost of shipping our policy is not to replace the item except in the case of a total loss of parcel.

Occasionally, it may be necessary to replace an item in your order. We will ensure that the replacement is of equal or higher value than the original. If the substitute product is unsuitable, please contact our customer service team within 7 days of receiving your item at [email protected].

Our products make the perfect gift, and at the checkout stage, you can add a greeting or message to the recipient. We recommend adding a gift message wherever possible so the receiver knows who sent the gift. For privacy compliance purposes, we do not include the sender's name and address on the packing sheet with the greeting printed on it. We also do not include the price of the item.

Storing our Cheese

All waxed cheeses generally have a best-before date ranging from 1 to 4 months, depending on the variety and the time of year. Blue cheeses typically have a best-before date of at least 7 days, unless otherwise specified. Please note that these are general guidelines, and the actual shelf life of the cheese may be considerably longer.

During the warmer months, all orders are shipped with ice packs to ensure your cheese is kept chilled on it's way to you.

Yes, wax-covered cheese should always be stored in the fridge, especially for long-term storage (more than a couple of days). We recommend keeping it at a temperature between 5°C and 8°C.

Refrigeration helps preserve the cheese's excellent taste and texture, and it also prevents the cheese from swelling and the wax from splitting.

Most cheese will last up to 3 months if kept in the fridge. We have to include compulsory Best Before End (BBE) dates which are not true indications of the lifetime and quality of the cheese.

You can freeze our cheese and it will keep for up to 12 months. Defrost in the fridge for 24-48 hours and for the best flavour consume at room temperature.

The best before dates on our cheese are a guide date only that we are obliged to add to our cheese. The reality is that our cheese will last considerably longer than the dates shown if stored sealed in your fridge or frozen in the freezer for up to 12 months.

About our Cheese

All our Waxed Truckles & Cheshire Cheese Chutneys are Gluten Free, except for Old Hag Ale & Mustard Cheese. Please check our Ingredients & Allergens Page for current information.

All of our cheese is made with vegetarian rennet including the Vintage Gold and is suitable for vegetarians as our entire range is VegSoc Approved.

Yes and you must always store the cheese long term in a fridge for extended periods of storage of more than a few days we recommend storage in fridge at 5°C to 8°C. Blue cheese should always be refrigerated at below 5°C or it can be frozen. Refrigeration helps maintain the cheeses excellent taste and texture and also helps avoid the cheeses from swelling and the wax splitting.

All of our cheese is made with pasteurised milk and all our cheese except for our blue cheese is suitable for pregnant women.

All of our cheese range is created by ourselves and we produce it in Crewe, Cheshire. Our distribution centre and HQ office is at Laurels Farm, Crewe Rd, Hatherton, Nantwich, Cheshire CW5 7PE.
