Valentines Pepperoni Pizza

'Wow' your loved one this Valentine's Day with our romantic take on the classic pepperoni pizza.

Serves 2

Ingredients

To make the sauce:

• 2 tbsp olive oil
• 2 Garlic cloves, thinly sliced
• 400g Whole plum tomatoes
• 1 heaped tbsp sugar
• 1 tsp salt
• A handful of basil, roughly chopped
• A pinch of freshly ground pepper

To make the pizza:

• One pack of ready-to-use pizza dough
• 200g Vintage Gold Extra Mature Cheddar - Waxed Truckle
• 100g Pepperoni

Method

To make the pizza sauce:

Place the oil in a frying pan over a medium heat. Add the garlic and fry until soft.

Pour in the tomatoes and use a fork to mash them down.

Add all the remaining ingredients and heat slowly on a low heat for 20-25 minutes until the flavour has deepened and the sauce is nice and thick.

To make the pizza:

Preheat the oven to 230 C or 450 F.

Fold each pepperoni slice in half and cut into heart shapes using scissors.

Roll out the pizza dough and make it into the shape of a heart, and fold over the edges to create a crust.

Use a fork to add poking holes and blind bake for five minutes, and then add the pizza sauce.

Grate the cheese and add it to the pizza base, and then add the pepperoni in a pattern around your pizza.

Bake for 10-15 minutes until golden and crispy.
